The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
be merciful to me and answer me.
My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
God my Savior.
I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27 (excerpts)
If you need to experience The Love of Jesus today; if you are going through difficult times and find yourself walking in fear and anxiety – pray over Psalm 27 above. I’ve include excerpts of it here. For a full version click on the highlighted link.
It’s tempting to want to run ahead of The Lord and jump at the first solution that comes our way when we are struggling or lost. We’ve all been here. How do we know something is from God, or something else?
How to recognize and wait for the Lord
- We are told in 1 John 4:1 to test every spirit to see whether they are from God.
- When something is from God, God will get the glory. We are always secondary.
- It must be in line with biblical principles. If what is being proposed does not line up with biblical principles, it is not from God.
Having strong faith, patience to wait on the Lord instead of running ahead, overcoming fear and trusting in God’s plan for our life – it’s all part of our daily walk in becoming more like Jesus.
When will it be complete? Well, I don’t know for sure, but my guess is – the day we are lucky enough to walk through those gates of heaven and hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:21
Do you have a hard time waiting on the Lord? I struggle with this. I often pray for patience…then wish I hadn’t because he gives me ways to practice patience.
